Info om Brunello Cucinelli

Approximately 30 years ago Mr Brunello Cucinelli realised that dyed cashmere could be a great innovation (until then cashmere came only in neutral shades). Cucinelli was one of the first in Italy to use cashmere dyed with bright colours on a large scale - similar to what Benetton did with sweaters, but for a very high-end customer. He started his business in a small 40m2 workshop in Solomeo, a town in the beautiful region of Umbria. In 1985 he bought a run-down 14th-century castle in Solomeo, and moved the headquarters of his company there after restorations were well underway in 1987.

Today Brunello Cucinelli is universally known as the “King of Cashmere”. He creates the softest and most luxurious cashmere creations. He has not limited his fabrics to cashmere alone. Inspired by the romanticism and mysticism of his heritage in the Umbrian countryside, Cucinelli introduced the world to a new dimension of luxury living for both women and men with the creation of his ready to wear, cashmere, linen, silk, leather and luggage lines, shoes and accessories.
